Destinations within Zimbabwe

Hwange National Park

One of Africa’s 10 largest parks, and Zimbabwe’s largest, the Hwange National Park’s sweeping grasslands and mopane woods are home to enormous elephant herds and a variety of predatory mammals.

Lake Kariba

Lake Kariba is among Africa’s largest man-made dams. Stretching out over the lower Zambezi region, it’s an epic getaway. Go fishing, enjoy the sunset, or try out watersports with hippo and buffalo watching on.

Mana Pools National Park

A striking feature of Zimbabwe’s northernmost territory, Mana Pools offers unparalleled beauty and wildlife sightings. This, a most Instagrammable safari, is thanks to the Chitake Spring’s watering hole.

Matobo National Park

Housing the great Matobo Hills, Matobo National Park features an iconic landscape with unusual rock and granite formations. Marvel at Stone Age rock art, stare in awe at the mighty black eagles, and more.

Victoria Falls

Sharing this natural world wonder with Zambia, Zimbabwe’s side of the falls has its own unique atmosphere. See the world-famous Boiling Pot and Devil’s Pool (if you’re brave enough).

When is the best time to visit

Zimbabwe

zimbabwe

The best time to visit Zimbabwe really depends on which of its major attractions you’d like to see. It’s tricky to get the best of everything all in one go, which is why our customers book several trips with us over the course of a few years.

For Victoria Falls, any time if year is good but the best time is between March and May, when the volume of water thundering over the falls is at its peak. Hwange National Park, Mana Pools and Matobo are all open year-round. The dry season (Q2 & Q3 of the year) is better for viewing big game, while the wetter months (Q1 or Q4 of the calendar) bring an abundance of birdlife and vibrant bursts of plant life upon which they gorge themselves.
