Eastern Highlands
The Eastern Highlands make a beautiful start or end point to a luxury safari holiday around Zimbabwe. It is one of the most beautiful parts of Zimbabwe and a superb area to spend a few days to break up a safari-orientated trip and yet doesn’t register on many visitors’ radars
A mountain range in the east of Zimbabwe, of course – and is one of four distinct physiographic regions on the African continent. Extending for about 300 km running north-south along the Mozambique border. Encompassing, the rolling countryside and tea plantations of the Nyanga range; the granite peaks of the Chimanimani Mountains; and the green meadows and the coffee plantations of the Bvumba range. Sparsely populated, this highland country is covered in rich grassland and forests, making it a great area for avid walkers, birders and botanists.
Golfing, horse-riding, trout-fishing and tea-sipping are the order of the day in summer while the winter months of May to September encourage fireside pursuits. Perfect for Group travels, road tripping
A tailor-made holiday to the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe often begins in nearby Harare, and is a fantastic start or end point to a guided or self-drive trip through Zimbabwe, usually sandwiched between the wilds of the Gonarezhou National Park, the historic ruins of Great Zimbabwe and Harare.
